I’ve always been a big citrus lover. If you come into my kitchen during winter time, you will always find lemon and tangerines in my fruit bowl. We enjoy oranges, grapefruit and limes as well and I add citrus to both savory and sweet dishes. Of course, when citrus is in abundance, it’s only natural to have as much of it as possible.
My favorite is blood orange. The sight of this jeweled glossy fruit fills me with wonder. Every time I slice one up, I impatiently wait for the surprise inside, to find out how intense the hue is going to be and I adore the way it drips the pink sticky juice and stains my hands. It is one of those few instances where I actually love looking at a thing more than eating it.
Making homemade winter juices is a great way to incorporate a variety of your favorite fruit and vegetables into your diet. They digest super fast boosting your energy. I’m excited to share with you three of my favorite homemade winter juices: Citrus Beet Power Juice, Green Energy Juice and Sunshine Carrot Juice.
These homemade winter juices were love at first sip. They are ridiculously easy to make and are packed with all-natural, healthy ingredients making this the perfect snack!
For Citrus Beet Power Juice I used a mixture of blood oranges, beets, pomelo, lemon, a bit of kale and it came out splendidly.
The second is a Green Energy Juice. Without jokes, you guys, this juice literally wakes you right up. This one contains a delicious mixture of kale, apples, rainbow chard, oranges and lemon. To me, this was kind of like a super healthy lemonade.
The Sunshine Carrot Juice is so bright and colorful. I mean just looking at vibrant colors of kumquats and carrots makes me happy! It also has pineapple, oranges and apples in the mix.
I love all that stuff, but you guys, mostly, what I care about is making these homemade winter juices that I actually love drinking, and these are the ones. Right here, right now.
